We decided to cook one of both of our favorite Thai seafood dishes, in Thai called pla kapong neung manao (ปลากะพงนึ่งมะนาว), and in English a steamed barramundi fish (also called Asian sea bass), with lime sauce, garlic, and chilies. It’s actually quite easy to make this, it just takes a fresh fish and a few other common ingredients. It’s simple and delicious. Join us in the Bangkok street food kitchen for an amazing recipe, and a dish that’s sure to be a stunner! Here are the ingredients you’ll need: 1 whole barramundi, about 1 - 2 kilos (or whatever size you can get) - you could also use a smaller fish if you’d like, or a different kind of fish 5 stalks of lemongrass 1 cup chicken stock or fish stock for the sauce 2 Tbsp finely chopped palm sugar 8 Tbsp lime juice 6 Tbsp fish sauce 2 head garlic, chopped Thai chilies, to taste, finely chopped 20 - 25 sprigs cilantro, chopped 1- 2 stalks Chinese celery, cut into 1-inch pieces For the method of making Thai steamed fish, make sure your watch the video for the complete tutorial, and also head over to the full recipe on the blog (http://www.eatingthaifood.com/). Fish masala with poppy seeds is a delicious recipe of fish marinated in a paste of spices, condiments and pan fried to perfection. an exotic fish preparation with poppy and sesame seeds. this dry fish dish is fit for any special occations and had on mrigashirsha day fresh water fish cooked with poppy seeds masala http://www.vahrehvah.com/fish-masala-with-poppy-seeds Ingredients 1 tsp chili powder red 1 cup Chopped onion 1 cup coconut powder 1 bunch coriander leaves 1 tbsp coriander pdr 1/2 tsp cumin 2 sprigs curry leaves 3 number dry garam masalas 1000 grams Fish 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste 1 number lime juice 2 tbsp oil 7 number peppercorns 1 tbsp Poppy seeds As needed Salt 1 tsp sesame seeds pinch 0 Turmeric powder Directions Take a pan dry roast poppy seeds,sesame seeds, dry garam masala,pepper corns roast and add this to blender add coconut powder make a paste. In another pan add oil, onions cook till golden brown, add to the poppy mixture blend it again keep aside. Now in a bowl add fish pieces,ginger garlic paste,coriander powder,turmeric,salt,chilli powder, lime juice, add the blended paste mix well and keep it aside for 30 min. After 30 min take a non stick pan add the marinated fish in one layer and cook in a very slow flame once it is cooked one side, turn to other side cook till golden brown colour then add curry leaves, coriander leaves chopped. Heat a griddle pan over a high heat until very hot. Brush the vegetables all over with the oil and griddle for 5 minutes, turning once, until charred and tender. 2. Meanwhile, preheat the grill to medium. Put the fish on a baking tray and brush each fillet with the harissa paste. Season with freshly ground pepper and cook under the grill for 4-5 minutes, until cooked. 3. To serve, divide the prepared couscous among plates. Top with the griddled vegetables and the harissa sea bass.
